Tiger Woods remembers his father in tweet about World Series


The Houston Astros outlasted the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 2 of the World Series to even the fall classic at one game apiece.

Tiger Woods, one of the many celebrities at Dodger Stadium for the World Series, said Thursday that this was the first Fall Classic he has attended since going with his father 29 years ago.

Woods tweeted that he “last went to a #WorldSeries wtih my Dad in 1988, also game 2. Amazing to be back almost 30 years later. Let’s go Dodgers!”

Woods father, Earl, who taught him to play golf at a young age, died in 2006.

Woods was spotted sitting behind the visiting dugout Wednesday wearing a Los Angeles Dodgers jersey. The Dodgers lost that game to the Houston Astros 7-6 in extra innings to even the series at 1-1.

The 41-year old golfer and 14-time major winner grew up in Orange County about 30 miles from Dodger Stadium.  Woods had fusion surgery on his back in April, the fourth procedure on his back since April 2014, and hasn’t played competitive golf since
