Pelicans remove Anthony Davis from hype video, Twitter banner after trade request

New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis was not on the court Wednesday night.

And he was also notably absent from some of the team’s promotional materials.

In the days since Davis’ agent, Rich Paul, told reporters that the five-time All-Star had requested a trade, the Pelicans have removed Davis from the banner on their official Twitter profile and the pregame hype video shown in the Smoothie King Center.

A new version of the video, which was shown before Wednesday’s game against the Denver Nuggets, contains no highlights of Davis, nor does it include him in the montage of players at the conclusion of the video.

When asked about the change after his team’s 105-99 loss, Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said he has “never even seen that video.”
