Celtics' Isaiah Thomas: Injured hip feels 'great'

Boston Celtics guard Isaiah Thomas, who missed the last three games of the Eastern Conference finals with a hip injury, is expected to be close to full strength by the time training camp rolls around.

“The hip is great,” Thomas told the Boston Herald. “It’s going well. Rehabbing it, but it’s going well. It’s a real slow rehab process, but it’s getting better and that’s what it’s all about.”

Thomas decided not to get surgery on his hip and has been resting for most of the offseason. The All-Star point guard re-aggravated the injury during Game 2 against the Cleveland Cavaliers before being shut down. The Celtics, the No. 1 seed in the East after a strong regular season, went on to lose in five games.
